8. The world’s most photographed hotel is in Québec

The Château Frontenac, standing tall in Québec City, is more than 100 years old and is said to be the most photographed hotel in the world.

9. Vancouver offers skiing and surfing in the same day

In Vancouver, snow-capped mountains and the Pacific Ocean meet. That means adventurous Canadians can ski in the morning and surf in the afternoon — all in one day.

10. The Yukon’s gold rush was over 100 years ago

More than a century ago, thousands of people came to the Yukon searching for gold. Armed with just a pan, pickaxe, and shovel, they hoped to strike it rich.
